<image:title>Freelance Writing & Editing - Inns of Aurora</image:title>
<image:caption>I write and edit promotional material and blog content for the Inns of Aurora, a collection of historic inns based in the Finger Lakes, New York. Content has included press releases, spa menus, spa treatment cards, and more. When editing, I adhere to the style guide and ensure consistency of tone. I also check tables of contents, photo captions, and pagination. When writing, I aim to replicate brand voice while creating engaging content. I follow guidelines from previously published material in order to ensure consistency across projects with various authors.</image:caption>

<image:caption>From 2016-2019, I wrote product descriptions for Hayneedle, a home goods online retailer. Product copy varied in length from 2-6 sentences and was based on spec sheets provided by the vendor. For each description, I created an appealing and detailed portrait of the product while maintaining the down-to-earth Hayneedle brand voice.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Artist and writer Kyle Rose created The Working Stiff, a 100-strip webcomic, and compiled the first season of comics into this print collection. I edited the front matter and the dialogue, monitored for inconsistencies within illustrations in the panels, and checked pagination. (And yes, I even proofread the image of the expense report on the cover.)</image:caption>

<image:title>Freelance Writing & Editing - Pomegranate</image:title>
<image:caption>One of my first freelance jobs upon moving to Brooklyn was writing and designing employee handbooks and instruction manuals for Pomegranate, a kosher grocery store in Midwood. Pomegranate's strengths are its highly extensive selection of goods, its house-made food, and its branding. Shopping there is a joyful and memorable experience, so I wanted their employee handbooks to embody that clean, fresh feeling. When developing this project, I spent hours interviewing managerial and floor staff to learn about every role, the company structure, and employee tasks. I then compiled this information into 11 separate handbooks (one for each department) and wrote up the information using the company's official style guide.</image:caption>

<image:caption>This beautiful promotional publication was written by attendees and alumni of Leaders for Life International, a teen leadership program based in New York and Colorado. When editing these personal essays, it was essential to preserve each young writer's unique tone, and I took the time to work closely with authors to develop their own storytelling voices. <image:title>Freelance Writing & Editing - The Sycamore</image:title>
<image:caption>The Sycamore, Wells College’s student-run general interest magazine, is a project that was very close to my heart. My dear friend Alex Schloop and I founded our alma mater's general interest magazine while I was in my sophomore year of college, and for the following six semesters, editing this 100-page publication was my life. I met individually with student authors to develop their well-researched pieces and refine their style and mechanics, always staying true to our publication's personal style guide and layout.</image:caption>

<image:caption>ana [dot] giovinazzo [at] gmail [dot] com Ana is a Brooklyn resident and publishing professional with a passion for fiction writing. She grew up in central New York and attended Wells College in the Finger Lakes, where she graduated with a BA in English with a concentration in creative writing. Her love of literature inspired her to attain her MA in English from University of Rochester, and her enthusiasm for New York City brought her to Brooklyn shortly thereafter. Unsurprisingly, she is an indoor cat who loves reading and playing point-and-click adventure video games. When not locked down in her apartment, she loves seeing Broadway shows and going to escape rooms. She also enjoys the company of her jazz drummer husband, her stuffed tiger Oliver, and too many books.</image:caption>
